The States Has Many Leagues compared to Canada.

The US has thousands of Institutions... it is not hard to go and play in the USA, but it is hard to find the right fit

Main Leagues

NCAA

• Division I (schools like Duke, Harvard, and Auburn) - athletic scholarships
• Division II (schools like SFU, CSU Monterey Bay) - athletic scholarships
• Division III ( schools like Cal Tech, NYU and Pomona) - no athletic scholarships </aside>

Marah Dykstra trained with Split Second in her Grade 11 and 12 year through our PEAK program before starting her NCAA Division 1 career, now playing at powerhouse Michigan State University.

Jacob Holt played for Split Second Cobras from Grade 7 to the end of his Grade 10 year. He then went on to play NCAA Division 1 basketball at Santa Clara .

• Known as JUCO which is the Community College League </aside>

NAIA

• is another league which is typically equivalent to NCAA Div II </aside>

Academics

Top NCAA schools require strong GPAs and standardized test scores (SAT/ACT), while JUCO and some NAIA schools are more flexible.

Athletics

NCAA Division I is the most competitive university level in the world, producing many NBA, WNBA, and pro overseas athletes. Division II and NAIA are still very strong, while JUCO can be a great starting point to develop and transfer. Division III has no athletic scholarships but still offers a high standard of play.

🇺🇸 USA = 4 years of eligibility

• Time restrictions to complete eligibility (“Clock”) = 5 years to play 4
  • Div I = starts when first Full term starts (5 years to complete 4 Seasons)
  • Div II = 10 Full Time enrolled Semesters to complete 5 years
• Redshirt year do not count against eligibility but do count against your clock
• Must maintain 2.0 GPA to stay Eligible
• 12 units per term
• You do not have to sit out when you transfer instituions
