Information to include in an email or letter
- [ ] Name, size, position, GPA
- [ ] Program you would like to take at the school and why. Let them know why you are interested in the school.
- [ ] Demonstrate your love of the game, work ethic and desire to improve.
- [ ] Personalize the email for you and the target school.
- [ ] Demonstrate your knowledge about the basketball program and desire to attend ______ school. How would you fit with their current players/style of play.
- [ ] Give a brief description of your game including statistics and strengths
- [ ] Contact information for coaches - club and/or high school
- [ ] Upload videos to Youtube and email links to 3 minute highlight clips and ¼, ½ or full games
- [ ] Highlight yourself, identify number and jersey colour
- [ ] Include all-round clips- defence on-ball and off-ball, rebounding, assists, hustle plays
- [ ] Don’t include music - it will be on mute when watched
- [ ] Give time stamps for full games and statistics
- [ ] Attach transcript
- [ ] Regardless of the medium, you need to put forward the best version of yourself - spell check/proper grammar/no slang - speak like an educated person
- [ ] Forms of communication - texting/messaging, social media, email, phone calls, campus visits
