Information to include in an email or letter

[ ] Name, size, position, GPA
[ ] Program you would like to take at the school and why. Let them know why you are interested in the school.
[ ] Demonstrate your love of the game, work ethic and desire to improve.
[ ] Personalize the email for you and the target school.
[ ] Demonstrate your knowledge about the basketball program and desire to attend ______ school. How would you fit with their current players/style of play.
[ ] Give a brief description of your game including statistics and strengths
[ ] Contact information for coaches - club and/or high school
[ ] Upload videos to Youtube and email links to 3 minute highlight clips and ¼, ½ or full games
[ ] Highlight yourself, identify number and jersey colour
[ ] Include all-round clips- defence on-ball and off-ball, rebounding, assists, hustle plays
[ ] Don’t include music - it will be on mute when watched
[ ] Give time stamps for full games and statistics
[ ] Attach transcript
[ ] Regardless of the medium, you need to put forward the best version of yourself - spell check/proper grammar/no slang - speak like an educated person
[ ] Forms of communication - texting/messaging, social media, email, phone calls, campus visits
